Measure at Home
If you don’t have a ring sizer, don’t worry—you can still measure your finger at home with simple tools. While this method may have a slight margin of error, it’s usually accurate enough for most purchases.
Notes Before Measuring
- Measure More Than Once: Take 3–4 measurements and use the average for accuracy.
- Account for Your Knuckle: If your knuckle is noticeably larger, ensure the measuring strip can pass over it with ease, while still allowing the ring to rest comfortably and securely on your finger.
- Temperature Considerations: Fingers naturally fluctuate in size—slightly fuller in warm weather, a bit slimmer in colder conditions.
- Best Time to Measure: We recommend measuring in the evening, when your fingers are at their largest.This ensures your ring will remain comfortable throughout the day and across all seasons.
Steps to Measure at Home:
- Prepare a strip of paper (cut into a straight edge), a pen, and a ruler—or use a ruler app on your phone.
- Wrap the paper snugly around the base of the finger where you’ll wear the ring. It should feel comfortable but not loose.
- Mark the point where the paper overlaps.
- Measure the distance between the two marks. This is your finger’s circumference, which can be converted into the ring’s inner diameter and US ring size.

If your measurement doesn’t match an exact standard size, here’s what to do:
- Example: If your size is 6.75, order a US 7. If it’s 6.25, order a US 6.
- When placing your order, you can add your exact measurement in the notes. Since handmade rings may have slight variations, we’ll select the closest size to your measurement. (For example: If your exact measurement is 7.2, you should select the standard size 7 and add your precise measurement of 7.2 in the order notes. If our current inventory for size 7 includes three variations due to handmade tolerances—6.95, 7.05, and 7.13—we will select the 7.13 size for you when shipping.)
- If your finger size falls exactly halfway between two sizes, please contact us at service@rainbowtears.com to ask about custom sizing. (Note: Custom sizing availability may vary depending on design and production feasibility.)
Ring Sizing for Wide Bands
If you choose a ring with a wide band (typically 5mm or more), it may feel tighter than a standard-width ring.
- Since ring band widths vary, we provide appropriate sizing recommendations in the Specifications section of each wide-band ring. If no recommendation is provided, please select your regular size.
- When placing your order, you can add your exact measurement in the notes. (For example: If your exact measurement is 7.2 and this ring requires sizing up by one full size, you should choose the standard size 8 and add your precise measurement of 7.2 in the order notes.
